Congratulations to the US CLIVAR on the achievements in the last 20 years. My experience in participating in the US CLIVAR was wonderful. The Hurricane Working Group fostered a network of collaborations that enriched the career of the participating scientists and continues to flourish to this day, years after the Hurricane Working Group has officially ended. The multimodel dataset that was put together by our working group has been useful to many scientists around the world. It is a great resource for the scientific community and an example of how to create new projects on this topic. I hope that in the future the US CLIVAR will continue to foster research in new and important topics with the participation of scientists from a diverse background in different stages of their careers.
