Research into the complexities of Earth's climate system is fundamentally multidisciplinary in nature and is supported by a wide range of funding agencies. Over the past two decades, US CLIVAR has played a critical role in bringing together scientists spanning a wide range of disciplines to allow our community the opportunities to share our research and learn from each other. By connecting scientists with program managers from several of the key funding agencies and providing opportunities for scientists to engage in scientific synthesis activities, US CLIVAR helps communicate the greatest needs of the climate science community to the agencies that support our work. US CLIVAR also provides valuable leadership opportunities for early and mid-career scientists. I want to thank US CLIVAR for providing opportunities for me to grow as a scientist and a communicator, and I wish the program all the best for the next 20 years.
