Testimonial from Richard Grotjahn

The program has had value for me; it has helped advance my thinking and clearly broadened the community knowledge and interactions on weather extremes. A student attendee of our US CLIVAR 2013 Extremes workshop was so inspired that she and others designed and executed a session at the 2014 Winter AGU meeting, as well as the next two years. The 2016 journal article that came out of that workshop has been downloaded 6 thousand times.
My primary hope for the future is that US CLIVAR maintain interdisciplinary ties encompassing the atmosphere as well as the ocean sciences. The two 'spheres' are certainly linked on climate time scales.
