Workshop Logistics

Meeting Venue

The workshop will take place in the Main Seminar Room at the NCAR Mesa Lab located at 1850 Table Mesa Dr, Boulder, CO (Mesa Lab Map). Buses specific to the workshop will take participants from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boulder to the Mesa Lab and back.

Meeting Transportation

Two passenger busses specific to the meeting will transport participants from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boulder to the Mesa Lab and back. The Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn by Marriott are both a short walk (1-3 minutes) from the pickup location. The bus time table shows the departure and return times for each day of the workshop:

Getting There

Denver International Airport (DEN) is a 40 - 45 minute drive to downtown Boulder.

UBER/Lyft trips from the airport to Boulder are $70-$100, depending on the time. 

The AB1 Bus travels from DEN to several stops in Boulder. The $10 ticket is valid for one day of transportation.

Technology

Complimentary Wi-Fi and plug-in points for charging will be available in the meeting spaces. 

Posters

The closest printer is FedEx Office, Print & Ship Center - Boulder. You are responsible for printing your own poster. 

The poster boards will be a standard 4 feet horizontal by 6 feet vertical (122 cm x 182 cm) so we recommend posters are designed to fit in that space.

Virtual Participation

We aim to provide a seamless experience for both in-person and virtual participants. Additional information will be provided to you via email as we approach the workshop dates.

Visa Invitation Letters

For international attendees who require an invitation letter to attend the workshop, please contact Alyssa Johnson (ajohnson@usclivar.org) to make a formal request.

Meals

Breakfast, morning coffee break, lunch, and afternoon coffee break will be provided all three days of the workshop. There will be a networking event with heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks provided directly following the end of day 1 of the workshop (March 13). 

BCycle 

UCAR has arranged free access for using BCycle electric bicycles for local use, with docking stations at Center Green and near all three suggested hotels. Below are instructions on how to use the bicycles.
