My sincere congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the whole CLIVAR family on the occasion of your 20th Anniversary. US CLIVAR has been instrumental to my ability to engage with the climate science community when I arrived in the USA 12 years ago, and I enjoyed very much all the opportunities provided for exchanging ideas and working with my peers. I am particularly grateful for the networking and research opportunities that US CLIVAR offers to young scientists. The attention that has been paid to include people of all genders, at all career stages, and also from interdisciplinary backgrounds is paying off. The US CLIVAR research portfolio has been growing steadily and so is the diversity in the US climate science community! I wish US CLIVAR more success (and more funding) in the years to come. The climate challenge is far from over, and we need national and international coordination to understand, measure, and predict climate variability and change.
